Lineage :

(Orange Velvet) x (Space Queen)

Orange-Velvet-1
taxo-img

Originating from California, Jilly Bean is a 60% slightly Sativa leaning hybrid that was created by TGA Subcool. This multiple award-winning strain is a delicious cross of Orange Velvet and Space Queen. Subcool has a theory that the Orange Velvet used and gifted to them in Oregon as a cut called “Melvin” is actually California Orange, an old cut said to originate from Gainesville and date back to the late 70s. The Space Queen male used in the cross is a stud known as “The Space Dude” and has been used in many crosses on the TGA Subcool roster.

TASTE & SMELL –

Jilly Bean offers an interesting and complex terpene profile, delivering an aroma of tropical citrus with earthy hints of skunk. She produces a distinct sweet and bitter citrus flavor with delightfully fruity undertones.

EFFECTS –

Widely enjoyed as a “Wake n Bake” strain, Jilly Bean has a reputation for producing a happy and mood-enhancing high that can be driven and motivational along with being mentally focused.

MEDICAL USES –

Medically, this strain has been known to be popular amongst patients suffering from depression, offering a viable alternative to traditional antidepressant medication.

GROW INFO –

Jilly Bean is a plant that grows short and stocky, with strong thick stems and massive top colas. She is suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation and is known to respond well to SOG and SCROG cultivation methods. She has a flowering period of nine to ten weeks indoors and is ready for harvest in October when grown outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere. This strains heavy resin production and tasty terpene profile makes for an awesome extract/oil.

SEED AVAILABILITY –

Although this strain was discontinued by TGA Subcool, it is still available for purchase through TGA Subcools co-founder Mz Jill, with regular and feminized seeds being readily available from her website, Mz Jill Genetics.
