NYC Diesel

NYC Diesel is a multiple award-winning 60% Sativa dominant hybrid that was created by Soma’s Sacred Seeds. The Dutch breeder’s story on the history of this strain is that it came from some bagseed that was given to him by a friend who had recently returned from New York City. It is highly probable that the bagseed was an S1 of one of the many Diesels floating around NYC at that time. 

In an effort to create this strain in seed form the Diesel S1 was crossed to an Afghani/Hawaiian male (Shantibaba) and the progeny of this cross were then grown out and a male with Diesel expressions was selected and backcrossed to the original Diesel S1 female. This strain has quickly become one of Soma’s Sacred Seed’s top-selling varieties. It’s also a popular choice amongst breeders working new hybrids.

TASTE & SMELL –

NYC Diesel buds emit a pungent odor of spicy grapefruit and citrus with slight chemical-diesel undertones. She delivers sharp citrusy-limey flavors with notes of diesel that linger after exhale.

EFFECTS –

This strain is upbeat and promotes positive vibes! She has an uplifting, energizing and euphoric high that maintains mental clarity. NYC Diesel is well suited for social occasions or when working on projects that may require a spark of creativity.

MEDICAL USES –

Medically, this strain is known to aid those suffering from chronic pain, inflammation, arthritis and muscle spasms.

GROW INFO –

NYC Diesel is considered a difficult strain to grow and perhaps not the best choice for inexperienced growers. Indoor she can perform well if dialed in and her needs are met. Flowering in ten to twelve weeks, she can produce yields of up to 18 ounces per square meter. NYC Diesel can flourish outdoors with yields of up to 24 ounces per plant achievable. This strain prefers a warm, dry climate and is ready for harvest in early November when grown in the Northern Hemisphere. NYC Diesel flowers have a great calyx to leaf ratio, making for an easy trim.
