Luang Prabang is a 100% Sativa heirloom strain, named after the province from which she originated in Northern Laos. This strain is also referred to as “Lao Sativa” and is closely related to other Southeast Asian landrace varieties.

TASTE & SMELL –

Her aroma is a blend of pine and citrus with spicy overtones. She has a mainly spicy citrus flavor, accompanied by hints of earth and wood.

EFFECTS –

She is considered a medium-strength strain regarding potency and is renowned for generating a clean happy high that produces an overall sensory heightening experience.

MEDICAL USES –

Medically, this strain has the ability to help stimulate appetite and enhance mood. Luang Prabang can be useful for patients who experience a loss of appetite due to medical treatment or from the development of eating disorders through low self-esteem and negative self-perception.

GROW INFO –

Luang Prabang is generally quite similar to her neighboring Thai landrace counterparts. She grows tall and thin with medium internode spacing and has a bamboo-like branching structure. This heirloom is suitable for indoor and outdoor cultivation, ultimately thriving in tropical to sub-tropical and warm coastal climates. She is considered moderately difficult to grow despite being fairly resistant to most molds and plant disease. Indoors, Luang Prabang plants flower for fourteen to sixteen weeks and are ready for harvest in late November when grown outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere.

SEED AVAILABILITY –

For those interested in obtaining Luang Prabang genetics, it should be noted that this is a landrace strain that is periodically available through various breeders that specialize in landrace/heirloom genetics. One such seed company of stellar reputation is Ace Seeds, although they are currently marked as out of stock.
