Jack Herer is a 55% slightly Sativa leaning hybrid that was created by Nevil Schoenmakers while working for Sensi Seeds in Holland. This veteran Dutch seed company named the strain in honor of Jack Herer, the legendary cannabis activist and best-selling author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes. This strain was first released during the 94 High Times Cannabis Cup and presented to Jack Herer by Sensi Seeds whilst touring the Cannabis Castle in Amsterdam.
Despite this medical-grade strain’s exact lineage never being officially disclosed by Sensi Seeds, it’s been widely accepted that she is a three-way cross between Northern Lights #5, Haze and Shiva Skunk. Jack Herer has gained much recognition, receiving many awards over the years and has been used in the creation of many other well-known hybrids such as Jack’s Cleaner, Jack the Ripper and Jack Flash.
TASTE & SMELL –
This strain produces a rather complex terpene profile with smokers describing her aroma as a combination of sweet earthy notes with hints of pine, citrus and orange. Taste is quite similar with undertones of tropical fruits and sharp spicy notes on exhale.
Jack Herer lives up to her reputation, delivering a potent well-balanced high that is clear-headed and long-lasting. She is known to produce an uplifting cerebral body buzz, boost energy and promote positive thoughts, while inducing content, calm and relaxing feelings.
MEDICAL USES –
This strains positive effects are better suited for daytime use and have been known to aid in the treatment of anxiety, depression, fatigue and stress.
GROW INFO –
Jack Herer has four main phenotypes, with three of these being strongly Sativa influenced and the remaining pheno being noticeably more Indica leaning in her traits. There are also further variations of phenotype with various expressions being shown from the inherited traits. Jack Herer plants show high resistance to most molds and bugs. She is considered a moderately difficult strain to grow but is well worth the effort as she rewards growers with extremely resinous buds that are frosted in trichomes and highly prized for making extracts and hash. Additionally, for potentially increased yields, she is suitable for both Sea of Green (SOG) and Screen of Green (SCROG) cultivation methods.
SEED AVAILABILITY –
For those wishing to grow their own Jack Herer plants, both regular and feminized seeds are readily available for purchase directly from Sensi Seeds’ website and through authorized online vendors.
