Hash Plant is a term used to denote a squat Indica variety that is extremely resinous and synonymous with the production of top-quality hashish in Afghanistan. One version offered is the multiple award-winning 90% Indica dominant hybrid that was first released in seed form in 1987 by Nevil Schoenmakers, the founder of “The Seed Bank of Holland”. This strain started her journey in the early 1980s when she was first developed in the Northwest USA and eventually made her way to Holland in clone form.
This clone, selected from the finest Afghani hash plant specimens from the Hindu Kush mountains was then stabilized and crossed with Northern Lights #1 in order to create the famous “Hash Plant” we know of today. She quickly became a popular strain for the seed company and has been used as a building block in many of today’s modern hybrids.
TASTE & SMELL –
Hash Plant buds produce typical aromas of the Afghanica genotype, providing smokers with a predominantly spicy, hashy aroma and flavors that are a combination of sweet earthy and woodsy notes.
This strain’s effects are potent and long-lasting, providing a classic heavy narcotic Indica stoned sensation. The body high is almost instant and produces a powerful sedative quality that encourages feelings of calmness and relaxation. She also has a reputation for inducing couch-lock.
MEDICAL USES –
Hash Plant’s deep relaxing properties have made her a desired strain for patients suffering from numerous medical conditions, both mental and physical. She is commonly used and recommended in the aid of treatment for insomnia, PTSD and chronic pain.
GROW INFO –
Hash Plant is the living definition of the short, stocky and sticky Afghanica genotype, traditionally cultivated for the making of hashish. She can be grown both indoors and out with relative ease. Hash Plant grows sturdy and displays a strong resistance to molds and plant disease. This strain has an extremely high bud to leaf ratio and produces nice fat, dense and resinous buds. As the name suggests, this strain is known for its profuse resin production during flowering. For this reason, Hash Plant has become a highly prized strain amongst hash-makers and extract artists. Additionally, this strain is fast-flowering and will bud for seven weeks indoors and is ready for harvest in September when grown outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere.
