Ed Rosenthal Super Bud is a well-balanced 50/50 hybrid that was created by Sensi Seeds. The strain was named in honor of the Californian Horticulturist for his efforts in advocating for the legalization of cannabis. This strain is a rare achievement, crossing pure landrace strains from around the planet’s equatorial zone, representing both ends of the cannabis spectrum and selecting the most desirable traits over multiple generations to create one evenly balanced hybrid powerhouse.

This strain’s history dates back to 1981 when it is said Ed Rosenthal distributed a mixed bag of landrace seeds originating from Africa, Mexico, Thailand and Afghanistan to veteran breeders to work their magic. These seeds were crossed and selected over the years, resulting in the creation of Ed’s PEHT (Potent Evolved Hybrid Type #1). Ed’s PEHT was initially released by Nevil Shoenmakers (The Seed Bank of Holland) and later made available via Sensi Seeds after the Dutch seed company acquired Nevil’s genetic library. Sensi Seeds continued to work the PEHT line and refine it to create the Ed Rosenthal Super Bud we know today.

The strain is a 50/50 evenly balanced hybrid, although different individual phenotypes may express more Sativa or Indica dominance. The Sativa leaning phenos are generally branchy and medium height. Large resinous calixes build up to form massive cone-shaped buds. Ed Rosenthal Super Bud plants will flower for eight to nine weeks indoors and are ready for harvest during the month of October when grown outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere.
