Cannatonic is a famous cannabis strain that’s a 50/50 hybrid mix of Reina Madre (Queen Mother) and NYC Diesel. The award-winning strain is popular with medical cannabis patients because of its unique, near-even THC/CBD ratio. One of the first popular CBD medical strains, Cannatonic’s history in treating patients is long-standing and precedes the Charlotte Figi story that brought high CBD strains into popularity in 2013. Cannatonic was bred by Resin Seeds, a Spanish seed bank. NYC Diesel is a mix of Mexican and Afghani landraces, and Reina Madre is a cross between La Reunion, an unknown Sativa, and Congo #1.

TASTE & SMELL –

The flowers smell and taste similar to Diesel varieties. Cannatonic delivers mild flavors reminiscent of spicy mandarin.

EFFECTS –

The CBD levels of Cannatonic keep the buzz at a minimum. So, despite its catchy name, you’ll stay completely grounded with this cultivar.

MEDICAL USES –

The CBD queen is a complete stress buster and an ideal option for patients with ADD, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, and anxiety. Additionally, this strain may help to treat seizures and help reduce the severity of migraines.

GROW INFO –

Cannatonic isn’t the best choice of cultivar for the novice cannabis grower. She is moderately challenging to grow, a difficult feeder requiring a close eye on her reaction to nutrients. Feed her right to keep her happy and dial the plant in so she can reach her true potential. Cannatonic produces short, stout plants with a nine to ten week flowering period. The plants can yield up to 18 ounces per square meter indoors. Outdoors she does not fare so well and much lower yields are to be expected, averaging 9 ounces to 14 ounces per plant.

SEED AVAILABILITY –

Growers will be happy to know that regular and feminized seeds are available through Resin Seeds’ website. Additionally, you can purchase them through other reputable online distributors.
