Punto Rojo

Punto Rojo is a pure 100% Sativa landrace strain that originates from the Tierra Adentro region of Columbia. A popular landrace strain back in the 70s and 80s, Punto Rojo produces two main varieties, each originating from the lower and higher mountain region. 

TASTE & SMELL –

This pure landrace herb is known for its incense-like aroma that’s musky with strong fruity notes. Once blazed, she is both sour and spicy with predominantly earthy flavors.

EFFECTS – 

Regarding effects, Punto Rojo’s high is cerebrally focused with minimal body load and a mild come down. Commonly recommended as a wake-n-bake, this feel-good herb is mentally energizing, euphoric and clear-headed with some mild psychedelic stimulation which may be too overwhelming for those new to cannabis.

Punto Rojo is considered an easy grow despite being a pure landrace strain, displaying a strong natural resistance to fungi, pests and excess moisture. She grows tall and slender with flexible branching, long internodes and super thin leaflets. Punto Rojo produces two main phenotypes with both growing in a conical and Christmas tree-like structure that’s uniform. High Mountain pheno has thinner leaves than the Low Mountain variety, while the Low Mountain pheno is known to finish slightly faster. She isn’t the best choice for indoor cultivation and is better suited for the outdoors. Ultimately preferring sub-tropical to tropical conditions. This vigorous strain has a flowering period lasting from 12 to 16 weeks and has the potential to yield up to 18 ounces per plant when grown outdoors.
