Big Bud

Big Bud is an Indica strain of Afghani origin that was first brought over to the USA in clone form. This clone-only strain eventually made its way to Nevil Schoenmakers in Amsterdam. This event may well have been a factor in preserving its genetics at a time when the USA was experiencing its war on drugs under the Reagan Administration. Nevil Schoenmakers, the founder of “The Seed Bank of Holland” pollinated the Big Bud cutting with Northern Lights #1 in an effort to preserve this strain in seed form, resulting in the award-winning stabilized version of Big Bud we know today.

Her oversized flowers are dense and heavy to the point that it’s common for branches to break if not adequately supported. A popular choice amongst commercial growers, Big Bud is easily trained and will respond well to SOG and SCROG methods of cultivation. She has a relatively quick flowering period of seven to eight weeks indoors and is ready for harvest by early to mid-October when grown outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere.
