Big Blue is a pure Indica strain that was created by British Columbia Seed Company back in 1995. This strain is the result of combining the best characteristics of Northern Lights #5 and Blueberry. It’s also interesting to note that Big Blue is a popular cash-cropping variety that’s commonly grown in Australia.

TASTE & SMELL –

Big Blue is known to provide a smooth smoke and a predominantly fruity aroma that’s reminiscent of dried grapes.

EFFECTS –

This strain produces an almost instant heavy body effect combined with subtle uplifting cerebral activity. A great choice for relaxing after a hard day’s work. Big Blue also inspires creativity and easily brings on bouts of laughter.

MEDICAL USES –

Medically, this cannabis strain is commonly associated with the treatment of anorexia, mild to chronic pain, cramps, depression, insomnia, lack of appetite, muscle spasms and stress.

GROW INFO –

This short and stocky strain is easy to cultivate, making it an excellent choice for small grow spaces. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation, Big Blue expresses vigorous growth and decent resistance to cooler climates. Growers can expect dark green foliage with purple hues, a great calyx to leaf ratio and big dense buds with heavy resin production. Big Blue has a relatively short indoor flowering period of seven to eight weeks and is ready for harvest by October when grown outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere. Additionally, it should be noted that this strain is rather sensitive to overfeeding.

For those interested in obtaining Big Blue genetics, regular seeds are readily available for purchase directly from British Columbia Seed Co’s website.
